Mayan Indians
Chichicastenango, Guatemala
January 22 - 30, 2011

The Mayan Indians around the city of Chichicastenango, Guatemala will benefit from CMMI's medical, dental and eye care services in 2011. Following our first mission to the Rio Dulce in Guatemala in June 2005, CMMI has scheduled their return trips to the highlands, where the villages are located between 6,000 - 9,000 feet above sea level. The team will stay in Chichicastenango and travel out each day to four different villages in remote locations. Our doctors will each see about 50-60 patients a day; our dentist, approximately 35-40 patients per day doing extractions only and our eye care professionals will serve about 60-70 patients a day, giving out reading glasses. After our four days of seeing patients, the team will visit Antigua (2 nights) which was the first capital of Guatemala and remains a beautiful colonial town. The $700 trip fee includes all transportation within Guatemala, hotels, breakfast, lunch and dinner from Saturday through Thursday morning. All meals in Antigua will be the volunteers' responsibility.
